Rootstock Publishing Announces New Children’s Branch
Author and editor Jennifer Gennari takes the lead on children’s books at Rootstock Publishing!

Rootstock Publishing is thrilled to announce the formation of the Children’s Branch, an expanded service of their successful publishing and book marketing company in Montpelier, Vt., with award-winning author and editor Jennifer Gennari as the new Children’s Branch Editor.

Rootstock Publishing’s Children’s Branch offers a collaborative partnership to bring picture book, middle grade, and young adult stories to young readers, guiding work from draft to a designed, edited, and finished book with global distribution.

“We’re incredibly excited to elevate Jennifer from her marketing assistant role at Rootstock to this new role of acquiring, editing, and managing the production of quality books for young readers,” said Publisher Samantha Kolber. “With her extensive experience in the children’s literature world and strong editorial eye, we know authors are going to enjoy working with Jennifer to realize their publishing dreams.”

A graduate of Vermont College of Fine Arts, Jennifer Gennari is the author of Stifled, Muffled, and My Mixed-Up Berry Blue Summer. Her middle-grade books have received honors, including finalist for the Georgia Children's Book Award, an American Library Association Rainbow title, and a Bank Street Best Children’s Books of the Year selection. She has taught at Boyds Mills, the Writing Barn, and for the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. She and her indie filmmaker husband divide their time between Colchester, Vermont and the San Francisco Bay Area.

“Children’s books hold a special place in the world for the way they inspire young readers,” Gennari said. “If you have a manuscript that offers hope, tells the truth, and sparks wonder and joy through great storytelling, we can’t wait to read it.”
