SYNOPSIS

PoemCity Anthology 2024 is a collection of poems featured in PoemCity, the Kellogg-Hubbard Library’s annual celebration of National Poetry Month during the month of April. These poems by Vermonters of all ages—from three to ninety-four!—were part of the walkable display showcased in the windows of businesses in downtown Montpelier, Vermont. This celebration of poetry and community includes published poets, former poet laureates, K-12 students, as well as new poets just starting to put pen to paper, and hail from seventy-five Vermont cities and towns. All proceeds from the sale of this book benefit the Kellogg-Hubbard Library (a 501c3) and supports future PoemCity programming. We thank you for your support!

“I enjoyed reading PoemCity Anthology 2023. I read every poem—from Vermonters in towns and villages all across the state, young and old, various topics, life, death, daybreak, nightfall, working, dreaming, portraits of people, pets, cars, seed catalogs, olive oil, a glove, all the seasons, and feelings, joy, grief, love of course. I think there were more than 250 poems! Each one telling a story, uniquely Vermont, but universal, heartfelt.”

-Nancy Haiduck, Burlington
