Dr. McCoog is an Assistant Professor at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine in Scranton, Pennsylvania. He studied history, philosophy, and education at Bloomsburg University and earned a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Wilkes University. Dr. McCoog has published numerous journal articles and began writing creative works after studying narrative-based medicine at the University of Toronto. He was a teacher and school administrator for thirteen years before transitioning to higher education. He was a nominee for the Raise the Line Outstanding Faculty Award and a nominee for best poster International Association of Medical Science Educators.
Ian and his family live in the Susquehanna River Valley of Pennsylvania and enjoy spending the summer months in central Vermont at their cabin on Dog Pond. Visit his website, www.ianmccoog.com.
